Finished corset!

I finished it this morning and tried it own. Yowza! What a difference straps make! Never going strapless again! It's a bit funky in the back because it needs to be relaced. And it is a bit tight, but that's why I made it back and front lacing. Hope to lose weight by Scarby!

Now on to the new noble gown!

Update!

Eep! I haven't posted in quite some time. Busy with internship and then school and life in general.

I'm in the planning stages of a new noble gown. I have this nice teal velveteen I got for like $3.50/yd. I got 3 yards of it at one Hancock's, and 9 yards at another... However, the 9 yard piece looks more like wale-less corduroy than velveteen... Even though it says it is velveteen... I'm suspicious. But despite what it is, it's still a very pretty color. I'm thinking teal body, black velveteen for the sleeves and I can use my black velveteen forepart from my other gown. Teal and black. Not what I had first planned with I bought the teal (I was hoping for a pink), however, I have decided I really like the way black and teal look together.

This is a little brighter than the actual shade, but you can get the idea.

Also working on a new corset using the Simplicity 2621, except I'm making it front and back closing, and without tabs. First toile was waaaaay big, so I re-cut the pieces two sizes smaller. Second toile is in process. I'll try to remember to get pictures of it when I try it on.

Update: Got the second mock-up done. Still a little big. And I remembered to take a picture. The toile isn't boned, but obviously the final product will be. If I was a good little seamstress, I would have boned the toile, too, but... well, I'm lazy.
