Completely finished first half of it except for eyelets. For the second half, I still didn't have new fabric, but my old corset's underside was black, so I cut one half of it down and rebound it. Have to finish boning and binding that half. This is a multi-colored corset because it's one of those "make it with what you have" deals and I didn't have enough bias tape in one color, so yay colors! Heh. Again, sorry for poor quality picture, I think my camera may be in my car. If not, it's home in Texas while I'm stuck up here in Oklahoma city. *sigh*

New Corset
My previous corset was way too big, even after I gained weight over summer. As well, it was too tall and was a bit uncomfortable. So, I took the old corset, took about an inch off the top, and an inch off each side so that it will be 4 inches smaller. The only scrap of duck canvas I had laying around was black, so I said "What the heck! I'll have a black corset!"
Sorry for the poor picture, had to use phone.
And a close up:
However, I only had enough to do one half, so I'll have to go get more once I'm no longer snowed in.

More old costume pieces
The old corset. You can see how it slightly dug into my hips... Just enough to be uncomfortable.
My bloomers, out of $1/yd faux-plaid from Walmart.
A non-historical based chemise from a scrap from Walmart. I need to fix the sleeves because they make my arms look really short and are too tight.
And here's me wearing my first-attempt at a Tudor gown... Notice the unperiod no-sleeves. The bodice is now retired. The skirts are being jazzed up and I'll hopefully get new pics up.
First pic is wearing the previous chemise, where you can see how short my arms look. Second pic is with a slightly more period white chemise, but you can see the strap coming unsewn.

Old costume pieces
A few things I had pictures of on my old website.
The first corset I ever made, of duck canvas and an upholstery scrap.
I ended up only wearing it once because a) it was really hard to lace up, even if someone else did it for me and b) it was too big. But I was sooo proud of it at the time. Maybe I should tweak it and make it fit better...
Next, another one I was quite proud of at the time. The infamous "Anne Boleyn necklace" for my best friend.
You can read more about the making of the necklace here
Next is my own necklace to go with my Tudor gown.
Next is a few hats I've made.
More coming soon!
